When I tell you that St.Sinner won’t ease you gently into their new release, ‘Subjects’, I’m not kidding. This track is high energy and thrilling intensity from the get go. When promoting the release, the band wrote on Instagram “your violence will be tested” and they backed that statement up with a track full of penetrating vocals, fierce instrumentals and robotic, artificial voices scattered throughout. With so much packed into one track it is pure listening pleasure.

To kick off their new track a robotic, yet feminine voice announces “subjects” hurriedly, before the track bursts into high intensity guitars and drums. The use of this voice throughout added another dimension to the track and was reminiscent of similar artificial voice interjections heard in songs like Bring Me The Horizon’s ‘Parasite Eve’. The use of the soft, automated voice against the hard vocals of this track gives off the impression that you can scream and fight as hard as you want, but at the end of the day all of us are subjects in this experiment.

The song has a memorable melody and a beat that you'll find yourself subconsciously nodding along to. The screams can't be described as anything other than satisfying. This track is catchy, easy to sing along to and will keep you engaged.

The hard vocals are brought in violently and abruptly, kicking you into gear and immediately immersing you in the track. I can see this chorus being chanted across an arena with fists in the air as people shout “we are all subjects”. The bridge comes in to disrupt the way you thought the track would end, as the spoken words and instruments all slow to make way for powerful roars from our vocalist. Lyrically, the track has some great lines to scream out, like “we’ve all had enough; we try to fight the crisis” and “kill us one by one, but we remain disciples”.
